Fort collins ,CO : Bicyclist dies after crash near Horsetooth Reservoir along CR 23 on Tuesday morning ,June 2nd 2015

Authorities say a bicyclist is dead after crashing along a county road near Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins.

Colorado State Patrol investigators say the victim, who was only identified as a male, apparently went off the side of County Road 23 on Tuesday morning and crashed into a shallow ditch. It does not appear that a vehicle was involved in the crash.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (http://goo.gl/nIRxsO ) the stretch of paved road where the crash happened is known as Stadium Hill Climb or Centennial Climb. Cyclists can reach 45 mph when traveling north on the descent.
