Laporte County, IN : Truck driver killed in fiery Toll Road crash on Monday afternoon, June 6, 2016
A truck driver was killed when a semi slammed into the back of his trailer on the Indiana Toll Road Monday afternoon.
Indiana State Police said around 3:15 p.m., Orville McDougall, 38, of Florida, was stopped in one of the eastbound lanes at the 42 mile marker because of construction. That’s two miles east of the US 421 exit.
The driver of a second semi failed to slow down or stop and ran into the back of McDougall’s trailer. The second semi caught fire and the driver was trapped inside. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His or her name is not being released pending notification of family.
