Glenwood, WI : Eugene H. Sempf, 73, died after Dump truck, car collide on rural western Wisconsin on Wednesday, Sep 30, 2015
A New Richmond, Wis., man was killed Wednesday when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a dump truck in the town of Glenwood, Wis.
Eugene H. Sempf, 73, was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota westbound on 130th Avenue when he apparently either failed to stop at a stop sign at County Road D or failed to yield to traffic, the St. Croix County sheriff's office said. The vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a 2001 Sterling dump truck heading southbound.
Sempf was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office, which responded to the crash shortly before 10:30 a.m.
The driver of the dump truck, Craig R. Groepper, 30, of Menomonie, Wis., was wearing a seat belt and was apparently not injured.
