Abilene, TX : Abilene woman killed in Runnels County wreck on Sunday, 16th October 2016

A 64-year-old Abilene woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 83 in Runnels County Sunday afternoon.

Deborah Reynolds Thompson of Abilene was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Thompson was traveling north on U.S. 83 about 4 miles north of Winters at about 2:45 p.m. when she lost control of her 2005 Honda Accord.

Her vehicle ran off the right side of the road into the ditch. It went into a side skid, struck a fence and dirt embankment and overturned.

Trooper Josh Sams of Ballinger investigated the crash.
