Madison County, MO : Fredericktown man dies in fiery truck crash in Madison County on Saturday, November 8, 2014
A man from Fredericktown died Saturday in a fiery crash after the truck he was riding in veered off a highway and hit a sign in Madison County, Mo.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as 76-year-old Jimmie P. Wall.
Police say Wall was riding in a 2002 GMC Sonoma driven by Loretta Wall, 76, of Fredericktown.
The truck was going south on Highway 67 when it ran off the road just north of Highway 72.
When the truck went off the left side of the highway, Loretta Wall overcorrected and the truck then ran off the right side of the highway. It struck a highway sign and caught fire at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday.
Jimmie Wall was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. He was pronounced dead at Madison County Medical Center. No injury information was available for Loretta Wall.
