A police officer in southwest Oklahoma is potentially facing a DUI charge after crashing his police cruiser earlier this week.
Waurika police officer John Fletcher, 22, was driving his police cruiser at a “high rate of speed” when his vehicle left the roadway, rolled twice and hit a fence, an OHP accident report states.
Fletcher was pinned for 30 minutes before he was freed by the Waurika Fire Department.
He was flown to OU Medical where he was treated for head, trunk, and leg injuries.
He has since been released.
The OHP Trooper at the scene believes Fletcher was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the accident report states.
