Laurens, SC : Driver dies after Laurens Co. crash on Thursday, June 30, 2016

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that claimed a driver's life on Thursday.

Troopers said the crash occurred on SC-14 around 3:45 p.m. The driver of a 2005 Pontiac was turning left into a private drive when the vehicle was hit by an oncoming car, according to troopers.

The driver of the Pontiac was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. The Laurens Co. Coroner identified the victim as Samuel Sharp, 52, of 1520 Greenwood Road, Laurens.

Troopers said the driver of the oncoming car was transported to Laurens County Memorial for injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
