William Tyler Cowherd killed in Fairfax County motorcycle accident

A motorcyclist was struck and killed in a car accident on Saturday evening in Fairfax County, police say.Fairfax County Police say that two cyclists were driving their Harley Davidsons eastbound on Braddock Road near Twinbrook Road when a Lexus, driven by a 63-year-old Maryland woman, turned left in front of them at about 7 p.m.

The cyclists could not stop in time and both struck the passenger side of the vehicle. One victim, 45-year-old William Tyler Cowherd of Annandale died.

The other cyclist, identified as a 50-year-old male from Manassas, sustained severe injuries but is expected to survive. The driver of the Lexus was not injured.Both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
