Oak Ridge, TN : Motorcyclist killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Anderson County near Oak Ridge Wednesday afternoon on August 13, 2014
A motorcyclist is dead after a multi-vehicle crash that blocked all lanes of Edgemoor Road near Oak Ridge Wednesday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 4:43 p.m. near the TVA Bull Run Steam Plant. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a car was slowing down for traffic ahead when a motorcycle crashed rear-ended the vehicle.
Another vehicle rear-ended the motorcycle, sending the rider off the bike and into the air. Troopers say a fourth vehicle hit the motorcyclist after that.
The driver of that motorcycle, 55-year-old Kenneth Lubthisophon of Powell, was killed. No other injuries were reported.
Traffic was diverted in both directions for several hours while crews worked to clear the crash.
