Portland, OR : Car crashes down embankment into the Columbia River on Tuesday morning, Sep 22, 2015

A car crashed down an embankment along Marine Drive Tuesday morning and ended up with its nose in the Columbia River.

Officials said the crash happened around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday and involved two vehicles.

The driver that ended up in the river made it out of the car and called 9-1-1. Officials are reporting minor injuries in the crash.

Police temporarily closed part of Northeast Marine Drive while emergency crews worked to clear the crash scene.
