Quincy,IL : Quincy man killed, another hurt in one-vehicle crash on August, Sunday 13th 2017
A Quincy man was killed and his passenger injured in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
A Quincy Police Department report indicates Douglas W. McMullen, 41, was driving his 1988 Chevrolet Corvette east on Locust Street around 2:58 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle skidded from the south side of the street to the north side, struck a mailbox, became airborne, struck two trees and two air conditioning units, and came to a rest on the south side of the Precision Plating Building at 2611 Locust St.
McMullen was killed as a result of the crash. His passenger, Roland V. Johnson, 43, also of Quincy, was taken by Adams County Ambulance Service to Blessing Hospital for injuries he sustained.
The police report says speed was a factor in the crash, and more than $1,500 in property damage was caused.
