Woodbridge, NJ : Out-of-state driver killed in Turnpike crash in Woodbridge early Tuesday, September 27, 2016
An out-of-state man in his 30s was killed in a one-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Tuesday.
State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn said the crash occurred around 6:49 a.m. in the northbound truck lane near mile marker 89.9 here.
Flynn said a Ford SUV ran off the left side of the road and struck the left guardrail, ejecting the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Flynn said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
He said the identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The section of the highway where the crash occurred was closed for about an hour and the right lane was closed for about two hours, Flynn said.
