Buffalo, NY : Three arrested following crash of stolen vehicle at Gates Circle on Saturday morning, April 16, 2016

Three people were arrested Saturday morning following the crash of a stolen vehicle at Gates Circle, Buffalo police said.

The three were accused of taking a 2012 Hyundai Sonata without permission and crashing the blue, four-door vehicle into the Gates Circle Fountain at around 8 a.m. Saturday, according to police reports.

Charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal mischief are: Elizabeth K. Robinson. 30, of Buffalo; Dana Smith, 21, of Wales; and Christian R. Page, 23, also of Buffalo, according to authorities.

The three ran from the vehicle but were apprehended a short time later by Northwest District police, officials said. Department of Public Works officials estimated damage to the fountain and light standards at $10,000.
