Ventura, CA : One woman was rescued from a vehicle after a crash at Highway 101 on Tuesday , January 13th 2015

A woman was rescued from a vehicle after a crash Tuesday on Highway 101 in Ventura, officials said.

The rollover crash was reported about 12:25 p.m. on northbound 101 near the San Jon Road exit, according to the California Highway Patrol. A pickup apparently hit a palm tree and knocked it down onto the freeway.

Firefighters from the Ventura city and county fire departments worked to cut down the tree and get the victim out of the truck, officials said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. The rest of the tree was cleared from the highway. Two middle lanes were blocked during the rescue and cleanup.
