Lynne, FL : One woman died in a canoe trip turned tragic in Marion County on Sunday night September 21st 2014

A family canoe trip turned tragic in Marion County Sunday night. Marion County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Jessica Greene said that five people were in the canoe when it overturned in Half Moon Lake in Lynne, about 15 miles east of Ocala. The incident was reported at 7:11 p.m. A woman -- the grandmother of two children in the canoe -- was pronounced dead at a hospital. The father of the two children is missing in the lake. Another man, believed to be a relative, and the two children, ages 5 and 7, did not have serious injuries. The children were pulled from the water, and taken to a hospital to be checked.
