WINFIELD, KS : Indiana man crashed into a townhome on May, Monday 8th 2017

Lake County police said a Greenwood, Indiana, man crashed into a townhome Monday in the Stonegate Commons subdivision.

Police said Zachary Sowinski, 46, of Greenwood, drove a black Ford Mustang into a garage in the 7700 block of E. 112th Avenue and damaged trees and a silver pickup truck parked outside the residence.Police said the accident took place 1:06 a.m. Monday. They said Sowinski was uninjured despite severe damage to his own vehicle.

Police said officers at the scene smelled intoxicants on Sowinski, conducted a standard field sobriety test and offered him a breath test that he declined. Officers arrested Sowinski and confined him in the Lake County Jail on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
