Reading, PA : Woman struck by hit-and-run vehicle in downtown Reading on Thursday, 25th August, 2016

A woman was struck by a car at Ninth and Penn streets Thursday morning and the driver who left the scene was later apprehended in Mount Penn, city police said.

The woman was taken to Reading Hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries following the accident shortly before 9 a.m. They withheld her name.
Police were preparing charges against the driver, whose name they also withheld.The victim was reported to be lying on the street and bleeding from the head when the call came in shortly before 9 a.m. and the striking vehicle had left the scene.
