CENTRAL, LA : Suspected impaired driver crashed into school bus with children on board on Friday, 2nd February 2024

A suspected impaired driver crashed their car into a school bus with children on board Friday afternoon, Feb. 2.

The Central Police Department said the crash happened on Greenwell Springs Road, south of Hooper Road, around 3:15 p.m. Friday.

Police say the school bus, filled with elementary school-age children, was heading north on Greenwell Springs Road. A car heading south on Greenwell Springs tried to pass another vehicle in a no-pass zone when it crossed the center line, slamming into the bus nearly head-on.
