San Diego, CA : Pedestrian injured after being struck by a vehicle in Oak Park on Thursday night, April 9, 2015

A 60-year-old woman was hit by a car Thursday night in Oak Park and suffered two broken legs, San Diego police said.

She had been standing on a raised median between the northbound and southbound lanes of College Avenue at the intersection of Streamview Drive when for an unknown reason she ran across the south lanes in front of an Infiniti sedan, police Officer Robert Heims said.

The driver, a man in his 20s, had the green light, the officer said.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m.
