Seattle, WA : One person killed in a car slammed into a power pole on Wednesday August 5th 2015
One person was killed overnight when a car slammed into a power pole and sheared it in half, then burst into flames, officials said.
Police and medics responded to the scene, at South Renton Avenue and South Fountain Street, just before 1 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash.When they arrived, the car and pole were in flames. The driver of the car was found dead at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the crash.Neighbors who live in the area said they never heard the screech of brakes - just a loud pop when the car hit the police and caught fire.
