Baltimore, MD : Man struck and killed by a van in a North Baltimore on Monday night, February 1, 2016

A man is dead after being hit by a van in North Baltimore late Monday, police said.

Police said an officer was stopped at a red light at the intersection of The Alameda and 33rd Street in the Ednor Gardens-Lakeside neighborhood when he saw a dark van leaving the area after hearing "a loud bang." The officer then found a man lying unconscious on a snowy sidewalk.

The unidentified man was transported to Bayview Hospital where he died, police said.

A witness also reported viewing a black van, "possibly a Dodge," police said. The vehicle was traveling east on 33rd Street. The witness reported a partial tag of BG6801 or BG6901, police said.
