LIVE OAK, GA : Fatal car accident in O’Brien on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016

A Lake City man identified as Charles Lilly, 68, died after a fatal car accident at 7703 224th St. in O’Brien around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Lilly was heading westbound in his 1992 Buick when he struck a tree on the north shoulder.

The car then caught on fire, completely consuming the victim and vehicle. The fire spread to a nearby field, but burned itself out.

Lilly was pronounced dead at the scene.
