FREMONT, CA : 68-year-old man killed in Fremont crash on Thursday, 29th October, 2020

Fremont Police have identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday night.

Roderick Meyer, 68, of Fremont, was driving a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta that veered off the street and hit two unoccupied vehicles in the Koplin Auto Care lot at 2075 E. 23rd Ave.

Fremont Fire and Rescue transported Meyer to a hospital, where he later died.

The accident caused more than 700 homes and businesses in Fremont to lose power for about an hour because the vehicle struck the guide wire of a power pole.
