SPRINGFIELD, IL : Coroner identifies woman killed in Springfield crash on Sunday, 7th April 2024

The coroner is identifying a woman who was killed in a crash in Springfield Sunday.

They Sangamon County Coroner, Jim Allmon, said 56-year-old DeAnn Romero of Wood River, IL died after being transported by EMS from the scene of a crash on East Lake Shore Drive.

Romero, who was the passenger in the vehicle that crashed, was pronounced deceased at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 2:12 p.m., shortly after the crash.
