EL MIRAGE, AZ : Santa Clarita man dies in El Mirage off-road crash on Saturday, November 12th 2016

A 51-year-old Santa Clarita man was killed in a late Saturday night off-road collision in the El Mirage Dry Lake Off-Highway Recreation Area, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officials said Christopher Becker was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel at approximately 12:04 a.m. on Sunday.

Authorities said Becker was driving a 2009 Suzuki DRZ-400 southbound at an unknown speed in the dry lake area at approximately 11:15 p.m.

For reasons still under investigation, Becker lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after and accessed Becker, who was found with life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel said Becker succumbed to injuries.

The cause of collision was unknown and under investigation.
