Kissimmee, FL : Pedestrian struck, killed by pickup truck in Osceola County on Wednesday, April 6, 2016

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a pickup truck in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Orange Blossom Trail.

The pedestrian, only identified as male, attempted to cross Pleasant Hill Road and walked into the direct path of the pickup truck, troopers said.

The pedestrian was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he died.

The driver of the truck, Joshua Hernandez, 29, of St. Cloud was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
