HAYS, KS : Kansas teen killed in rollover crash on Sunday, 6th October 2024

A 16-year-old central Kansas boys was killed in a crash early morning, the local sheriff says.

It happened at around 12:30 a.m. near 230th Avenue and Spring Hill Road, just southwest of Hays. Ellis County Sheriff Scott Braun said a car left the roadway and rolled. The crash ejected and killed the boy, who was not wearing a seat belt.

A second teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Sheriff Braun said alcohol is suspected to be involved, but the sheriff's office is awaiting lab results. No names have been released.
