NAVARRE, FL : Man steals car and crashes it on Saturday, January, 20th 2018

A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning after stealing a car and then crashing it.

According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Slater Glen Allen Cole of Mary Esther stole a 2015 Hyundai with the keys left inside. The car was parked at Whataburger on U.S. 98 in Fort Walton Beach.

Soon after, the car was reported crashed on Costa Verde Court in Navarre around 10:45 a.m. The Hyundai left the roadway and collided with two embankments, a concrete drain, two trash cans, a mail box and finally two more trash cans before coming to a rest in the driveway of 1916 Costa Verde Court, the report said.

Cole was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for minor injuries. He told authorities he crashed due to his disability of having only one arm. He was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain lane. He was transported to jail.
