Royal Oak,MI : Royal Oak woman crashes Jeep into Clawson BoRics salon on Tuesday, 8th May 2018

A woman going to get a haircut at BoRics in Clawson ended up driving her Jeep Liberty through the front window and into the salon.

The woman, 69, of Royal Oak suffered an minor scrape on her shin, but refused medical attention.

Police said the accident happened after 9 a.m. at the hair salon location at 815 W. 14 Mile Road in a strip mall between Main Street and Crooks Road.

“She pulled up to park and stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake,” said Clawson Police Lt. Scott Sarvello, ?and drove through the front window and into the building.”


Police ticketed the woman for careless driving, which is a civil infraction, and the Jeep was towed out of the building.

Police did not have an estimate of the damages, but Sarvello said payment for the accident will likely be handled through insurance companies for the salon and the woman’s vehicle.

“There were two people inside at the time, a customer and an employee,” Sarvello said. “They were at the back of the shop. They were uninjured but a little shaken from the incident.”
