Austin,TX : Man dead in crash with stalled flatbed trailer on Katy Freeway feeder on Monday, 21st May 2018

One man died after hitting a stalled flatbed trailer on the Katy Freeway service late Monday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Nelson Wade was driving a Lexus sedan at a high rate of speed when he struck the back of a flatbed semi-trailer around 9:24 p.m. on the westbound service road, between Eldridge and Highway 6.

The truck that was towing the semi-trailer had stopped in the left lane of the road, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver told deputies that he ran out of gas before his car stalled, and then turned on his emergency blinkers and set out reflective triangles.
