Manatee, FL : Motorcyclist died after a crash on U.S. 301 overpass near the Red Barn flea market on Sunday, April 17, 2016

Employees of All Faiths Food Bank in Sarasota on Monday were mourning the death of colleague Charles McLinch, who died in a motorcycle accident Sunday in Bradenton.

McLinch, 40, of Sarasota, was traveling north over the U.S. 301 overpass near the Red Barn flea market just before noon Sunday when he veered into the middle

concrete barrier and was thrown from the motorcycle he was driving, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

McLinch struck a light pole in the median after he was ejected, according to the release.

"Chuck was treasured by so many whose lives he touched through his work," said Sandra Frank, chief executive officer of All Faiths Food Bank. "Chuck's many deep friendships within the All Faiths Food Bank family leave us feeling devastated."

Frank called McLinch "a valued colleague, family member and friend whose life was cut short due to a tragic motorcycle accident."

"He was kind-hearted, hardworking, had an easy laugh and was fun to be around," Frank said.

McLinch was a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, Frank added.

"He cared deeply about those in need," Frank said of McLinch. "He was committed to his work. Chuck forged special bonds of friendship and trust with so many of the people he served and helped, and with whom he worked and played. We were privileged to be a part of Chuck's life. Our profound condolences go out to his family and loved ones."
