Lee's Summit, MO : Kansas City man dies in single car accident in an area of Northwest Monroe on Tuesday morning, July 19, 2016

A Kansas City man is dead after a single-car accident Tuesday morning in Lee’s Summit.

Lee’s Summit Police identified the man as Mackenzy Douglas-McRae, 24, of Kansas City.

According to police, Douglas-McRae crashed in an area of Northwest Monroe and Northwest Lakeview around 8:20 a.m.

Police believe Douglas lost control of a white Nissan Maxima as he navigated a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree before overturning.

Police are investigating to determine if speed was a factor in the crash.
