New Miami, OH : Five people injured in head-on collision of 2 minivans in southwest Ohio on Sunday, May 10, 2015

Two adults and three juveniles were injured in a head-on collision between two minivans in southwest Ohio.

The Butler County sheriff says a 65-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were transported to a Cincinnati hospital after the crash in the village of New Miami shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday. Two 14-year-old girls and a 9-year-old girl were taken to three other area hospitals.

The statement from Sheriff Richard Jones says two people were in one vehicle and three were in the other one. The names and conditions of those injured were not immediately released.

Investigators were trying to determine the cause of the crash.

New Miami is about 35 miles north of Cincinnati.
