Tucson, AZ : A female was killed and several more people were injured in a seven-vehicle crash on Wednesday, 16th May 2018

A female was killed and several more people were injured in a seven-vehicle crash that shut down the intersection of North Flowing Wells at West Wetmore roads for several hours Wednesday, Northwest Fire said.

Northwest Fire said there were nine patients involved in this crash, with six being taken to the hospital. Three people declined to go to the hospital, the fire district said in a tweet.

The female, identified as 81-year-old Shirley Taylor, was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital, said Dept. Cody Gress, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

The remaining patients were transported with minor injuries, Gress said.

He said shortly before 6 p.m. that the intersection was reopened to traffic.

No further information about the multi-vehicle crash has been released.
