Jefferson City, TN : Two injured in Highway 25/70 head-on crash near Jasper Jones Auto Salvage Yard on Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017
Jefferson City, Tennessee
Two people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles yesterday morning on Highway 25/70 in Piedmont near Jasper Jones Auto Salvage Yard, troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported.
Priscilla McMahan, 29, of Dandridge, was flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center after Dandridge Volunteer Firefighters removed the door of her 2007 Chrysler mini van. Also taken to the UT Medical Center was the driver of a 2006 Nissan Titan, Michael Brown, 56, of Blaine.
According to Trooper Toby Cameron’s report, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up, driven by Oscar G. Quiroz, 41, of Dandridge, had stopped while traveling east on the highway in order to turn into the salvage yard.
Headed west on the highway, McMahan tried to avoid striking the rear of the Silverado but crossed the center line and struck both it and the westbound Titan, driven by Brown. The Chrysler and the Nissan struck head-on, the trooper reported.
Two children in McMahan’s vehicle apparently were not hurt, he added. Firefighters removed the door and safely extricated McMahan in about four minutes, Lt. Sean Cameron of the Fire Department reported.
