Vale, NC : Woman and driver killed in truck crash on Highway 10 near Cooksville Road Thursday afternoon September 24 2015.

A woman was killed in a crash Thursday after investigators say her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a truck head-on near Vale.
The wreck happened along Highway 10 near Cooksville Road Thursday afternoon. Investigators say 31-year-old Carrie Lynn Workman was driving a 2012 Dodge Avenger when the vehicle crossed the center line and hit a Ford F250.
Workman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital and is expected to be okay.
Troopers say Highway 10 was closed for some time while crews worked the scene. As of Friday afternoon, the crash was still under investigation.
