Jones County ,MS : 59-year-old Laurel man killed after one-vehicle crash in Jones County on Sunday ,August 16th 2015

A 59-year-old Laurel man has died in a one-vehicle crash in Jones County.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Brent Barfield tells The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/1TNvh7R) Robert Earl Carter was travelling northbound on Interstate 59 at 1:50 a.m. Sunday when his vehicle left the roadway at mile marker 79.

It is believed Carter tried to over correct his 2005 Ford truck, causing it to roll over. Barfield says Carter was wearing a seatbelt.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
