A teenager from West Warwick died in a violent crash on a dead end road in his hometown New Year's Eve.
Antonio Vargas was killed when the car he was in hit a utility pole on J. P. Murphy Highway, a road which parallels Route 95 near Exit 8.
The impact of the crash brought down live electrical wires and caused several hundred home and businesses to lose power temporarily.
Vargas was with one or two other people who survived the impact. Their names and conditions have not been released by police.
The circumstances surrounding the crash have not been revealed by investigators.
Vargas once attended West Warwick High School.
