Dearborn County ,OH : One dead and two injured in wrong-way I-74 crash on early Wednesday ,July 22nd 2015

A head-on crash between a car and semi truck in Dearborn County early Wednesday resulted in one death and two injuries, according to the Indiana State Police.

A passenger car traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 74 near Route 1 caused the crash around 12:20 a.m., state police officials said.

Why the car was traveling in the wrong direction is still unclear to authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities remained at the scene after the road was reopened just before 5 a.m. to reconstruct the crash.

The two injured crash victims were transported to an area hospital, although police could not immediately confirm which hospital.

The person who died in the crash has not been identified by police.
