Victoria,TX : 3-vehicle wreck sends 3 people to local hospitals on October, Thursday 12th 2017
A three-vehicle wreck near Formosa's Gate 8 in Jackson County sent three people to Crossroads hospitals Thursday morning.
About 6:30 a.m., Margarito Chavez, 37, of Edinburg, made a left turn in his 2010 white Ford Focus onto Farm-to-Market Road 1593 from Formosa's Gate 8 and failed to yield the right of way to a 2010 white Ford F-150 driven by Ronald D. Bates Jr., 42, of Port Lavaca, said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, with the Department of Public Safety.
Bates was driving north on Farm-to-Market Road 1593.
The truck then struck the left side of the Focus as well as the front of a white 2015 Chevrolet 2500 pickup stopped on the farm road facing south attempting to make a right turn into the gate. The 2500 was driven by Jorge Garcia, 42, of Bay City.
The Focus came to rest facing east in a southbound ditch. The F-150 came to rest in the south lane facing northwest and the 2500 came to rest in the south lane facing south, San Miguel said.
Chavez was transported to Memorial Medical Center. A passenger in Chavez's Focus, Alvaro Garza-Suarez, 21, of Edinburg, was transported to Citizens Medical Center.
Bates was also transported to Medical Memorial Center.
Chavez was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way, San Miguel said.
