DES MOINES, IA : A serious crash on I-235 on Tuesday, November, 14th 2017

Authorities say the driver of a semi-truck has been cited in connection with a serious crash on I-235.

Rescue crews in Des Moines were called to the crash around 10:40 a.m in the eastbound lanes of I-235 near Polk Boulevard.


The crash involves a semi-truck and a car. Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek told KCCI that officers cited the driver of the semi for improper lane use.

There are injuries involved with this crash, but the number of injured and the extent of those injuries has not been released.

Parizek said the driver of the car is expected to be released Wednesday evening.

The crash backed up traffic for some distance to the west of the crash.
