AUSTIN, IN : 2 Austin High School students killed in car crash identified on Friday, 23rd September 2016
A single vehicle crash in Scott County killed two Austin High School students Friday morning and injured a third.
Indiana State Police said deputies from the Scott County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of the crash on Jack Morgan Road, about a half-mile north of State Road #256 near Austin, about 7 a.m. They discovered a 2005 Cadillac off the west side of the road in a field. Air 3 video showed the car had crashed through a wooden fence.
Two deceased males were located at the crash site. The driver, Jacob Justice, 18, of Scottsburg, was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt. Front seat passenger Cameron Prestegui, 16, of Austin, was wearing a seat belt, but died at the scene.
Back seat passenger Jonathon Brown, 17, of Austin, was taken to Scott County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He also was wearing a seat belt.
