Savannah, GA : One person dead after single-vehicle accident on Ogeechee Road on Sunday, May 8, 2016

Savannah-Chatham police responded to a single-vehicle wreck on the 5600 block of Ogeechee Road that claimed the life of 20-year-old man on Sunday.

At about 10:30 a.m., Roman Guerrero was driving south in the right lane of Ogeechee Road when the car he was driving left the roadway. Guerrero’s 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a utility pole. He died at the scene, Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman, said.

There were no reported passengers. No additional injuries were reported, Baker said.

Southside Fire and EMS responded to extricate Guerrero from the vehicle. Georgia Power dispatched crews to restore power near the accident scene, Baker said.

The cause of this accident remains under investigation by MAIT.
