Zebulon,NC : Mother and child among 4 people injured in 3-vehicle Zebulon crash on August, Monday 7th 2017

Four people including a mother and her young son were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Zebulon on Monday evening.

The three-vehicle crash happened before 6:30 p.m. on N.C. 96, which is Zebulon Road near Martin Road, officials said.

Officials said a mother and her young son were in a Kia SUV that flipped and was upside-down in a creek.

A car and a pickup truck were also damaged in the wreck. The truck also ended up off the road and into the embankment.

A witness told CBS North Carolina that the driver of a Toyota Camry veered over, causing the crash.

“I just told my daughters I said you know this guy is doing too much in front of us I’m going to back up. I’m going to back off a little bit. And as soon as I said that bam,” said Kathy Nash.

Nash said the Camry first hit a pickup truck, causing it to roll over down an embankment. Then, the car hit the Kia, forcing it off the road and into the creek.

One witness told CBS North Carolina more about the Camry driver after the crash.
