The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed one man died in a single-car accident Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said speed is likely a factor.
The crash happened at South Potter and Bruton roads in Mineral Springs around 3:40 p.m.
Officials said the victim is a 22-year-old resident of Mineral Springs.
The driver was traveling around 55 to 60 mph around a curve when he went off the road and crashed into a tree. Troopers said the suggested speed limit for that curve is 35 mph.
