McAllen, TX : Mission man, 28, killed in car crash near the city on Friday night, September 9, 2016

A Mission man was killed near the city in a Friday night car crash, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Daniel Vargas, 28, was the only person in a northbound Pontiac GrandAm driving on Schuerbach Road and 4 Mile Line north of Mission. At about 10:20 p.m., Vargas lost control of the car, rolling over several times and ejecting him in the process, the release stated.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS is investigating the crash.
