Nashville, TN : Driver died, 3 people injured in crash on Elm Hill Pike on Monday morning, Aug 31, 2015

A driver was killed in a crash on Elm Hill Pike on Monday morning, prompting the closure of the eastbound lanes for several hours.

A Corvette was turning from Appleton Drive when it was hit by a van driven by 47-year-old Thomas Waldroup. The Corvette spun around and was hit by another car driven by 62-year-old Carlotta Brdar.

The driver of the Corvette, 58-year-old Darvis Hudson, was killed.

Hudson’s passenger, 32-year-old Christina Kendall, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Waldroup was not seriously injured and declined transport to the hospital. Brdar and her passenger, 17-year-old Dominic Milliken, were both transported to St. Thomas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement in the crash.

Police are looking to see if nearby businesses have surveillance cameras that may have captured video of crash.

The eastbound lanes of Elm Hill Pike have since reopened.
