Two people died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night on County Road 846 east of Immokalee, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Roger J. Billie, 59, and a 32-year-old woman whose identity hasn’t been released yet, were killed when the driver of the car they were traveling in lost control and veered into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane, according to a report. The driver, John F. Robbins, 39, then over-corrected and the vehicle traveled across the westbound lane and onto the grass shoulder of the county road.

The car, a 2006 Ford F250, collided with an embankment on the shoulder and then overturned. The passengers were ejected.

Billie and the female passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. Robbins, who suffers critical injuries, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
