SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX : DPS One dead in crash on Queen Isabella Causeway on Saturday, 8th June 2024

A motorcycle accident on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway left a 19-year-old man dead, authorities said.The crash occurred Saturday evening in the westbound lanes of the causeway.A preliminary investigation revealed a red Yamaha YZF-6 motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a grey GMC Sierra Dually truck, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated.

DPS identified the motorcyclist as 19-year-old Brownsville resident Alexander Gomez.
