A school bus and gravel truck crashed in Greenville County on Monday.
According to information from the S.C. Highway Patrol, the crash at State Park Road and Howlong Avenue occurred just before 4 p.m. Monday.
Brotherton said a pick-up truck hit the bus on the rear passenger side. Troopers said the dump truck was headed south on State Park Road when the bus took a left turn off of Howlong Avenue and onto State Park Road. The truck then struck the right rear of the bus.
The bus driver was cited for failure to yield.
One middle school student was transported by ambulance to a hospital with a headache after suffering a bump on his head, Brotherton said.
Fourteen students from Sevier Middle School were on the bus when the crash occurred.
